The Glazer Children's Museum is my new #1 pick for a family day, rainy day, or just a day you are wanting to get out and spend a day doing something. The museum is located in downtown Tampa on Ashley Drive, right next to Curtis-Hixon Park. The museum offers 17 play & discover exhibits that are just awesome!
- airplane travel
- art smart
- central bank
- cruise ship
- design + build
- get moving
- engineers workshop
- fire house
- Publix shopping center
- hospital
- Outback Steakhouse Cafe
- Kids Network
- Kids Port
- My house, your house
- Tug Boat tots
- Vet Clinic
- water's journey
Each play & discovery area is beautifully built and designed and sure to get your children's full attention. We spent about 4 hours total discovering what this place had to offer. Everyone was happy and having fun the entire time.
The museum also offers food and drinks at a small cafe as well as souvenirs at their gift shop. However, when you walk out the door your breath is taken away by the beautiful sights of Curtix-Hixon Park, the river, skyscrapers, and the awesome silhouette of the University of Tampa. Once you are done with your museum visit, why not go to your car, get out your packed cooler, spread out a blanket in the park, and enjoy a picnic lunch. What a perfect place for a family picnic! There is also a modern playground, a sidewalk with geysers for the kids to play in, and a sidewalk with misters for you to walk through, as well as, a nice walking path along the river.
You can't beat a day like this. Plan on an ENTIRE day!
