Today was the annual Snakes Alive! show at the Clearwater Main library. This snake show is done around the Tampa Bay area all the time...in libraries, schools, small venues, ect. I am unsure of the presenter's name, but he is a snake expert and loves to educate children and adults about snakes.
He gives a lot of great facts and teaches children why you shouldn't pick up snakes in the wild. He teaches that you can't go by rhymes and riddles to know if a snake is poinonous. And he shows four different rat snakes (3 brothers/sisters and 1 father) that all look totally different.
He also allows the children to touch the snakes so they can feel the different textures on scales on different types of snakes.
No, this is not my favorite show...but the kids LOVE it!!!! :)
